| My last bike was a 21 speed, of which I basically used 6. For my new bike I was hoping for one with 5 or 6 speeds so i wasn't carrying around a bunch of gears I never used, but couldn't really find any. It's all 1, 3, 8, 10, and up. The Soho has 8 speeds. So far I've never used 1 or 2, so I guess 6 really is about all I need. NYC is pretty flat, so going up a bridge incline is really about the only time you need to drop it below 6. | |
