Short Synopsis: This is a soulful, deep, and reflective short that explores the delicate balance between man, God, life, love and a supernaturally charged gilded vegetable.

About: My brother-in-law was coming into town for the weekend and we thought it would be fun to make a short video with him. I contacted some other members of the Wompedy Club and before the weekend was up, The Golden Celery was born.

The Golden Celery was conceived during the course of a slow Friday work day, refined over dinner, then put into action with a 3am hunt for costumes. Once the spandex and beach towel had been procured, we did a loose shot sheet the rest of the evening. After an hour of sleep, the cast and crew met at the farmer's market at 7am and proceeded to shoot the entirety of the Golden Celery that Saturday.

After sleeping late on Sunday, everyone involved came back over for a "log party" where we logged and captured all the footage to a PowerBook G4/500 and grilled and ate all the vegetables purchased for the shoot.

Being on a laptop, the editing took place in cars, apartments, coffee tables, beds and office chairs during lunch breaks and after dinner over the next two weeks. The transition between paper and lettuce finally came to fruition (get it?) while sitting at the Cosmic Café with the TiBook and a Wacom tablet. I cannot describe just how cool it is to have people bringing you vegetarian samosas and strawberry smoothies when editing.

Oh, and in case you're wondering: We spray painted and used (broke) 7 stalks of celery.
